Worlds Report

2014 Mystery World Championships

The 2014 Mystery World Championships went off without a hitch this weekend on the Truckee River in CA.  Although we knew Swallow Cliffs was a really smooth spot, none of us could have predicted the potential for downtime here.

I started the competition off, as the finder of the spot I had the honors.  On my second ride I broke the record for mysteries in competition with a 40.9 second mystery.  That was quickly broken 6 more times in the next heat with both Jeremy P. and Kirby E. having 46 second rides and Stephen W. destroying it with a 49.1 second mystery.  With only five rides and one of them having to be an offside entry, it was critical to be consistent since all rides count toward the total.  In the end Jeremy P. beat out Stephen by 1.24 seconds with 3 rides over 40 seconds.

It was a great event and we would like to thank the sponsors:
World Kayak, NINKASI Brewing, Kokatat, IR, Stony Boater, Mountain Khakis, SinkSpots.org, Sweetcharc.com, Jackson Kayak, GoPro, Astral, SMITH, and Shred Ready
Enjoy the video and pictures
See you next year

Mountain Biking

So you want to bring your Mountain Bike...

Although it is a low snow year, the high elevation trails are still pretty much covered or patchy with snow. That said, there are plenty of world class trails to be had close to Swallow Cliffs.

All of the trails listed for Reno (20 min) and Truckee (10 min) should be good to go.
